Farming Simulator has always had European and North American maps, but developer Giants Software will be expanding upon the variety with an Asian-inspired environment in new game, Farming Simulator 25. Announced at Tokyo Game Show, this appears to be loosely inspired by a variety of countries, including Japan and China.
Of course, the key thing is that it brings new gameplay possibilities: “With two types of rice, specialised equipment for planting and harvesting, and water buffalo roaming the corrals, the newly unveiled map is the ideal playground to showcase the new farming technology added to the game.”
We’re really enjoying the variety of this map, as it segues between rural areas and city destinations. There’s appears to be a lot of verticality, too: winding hills reveal elevated temples and other areas of interest.
The game’s due out on 12th November for PS5, and is looking like the most fleshed out agricultural simulation yet. Are you tempted to give this latest game a go? Cut the crops in the comments section below.

It does need serious improvements graphically. The draw distance has always been really poor and noticeable
I honestly never understand the appeal of these games but clearly they're successful enough to keep churning out sequels.
@QiaraIris they are chill games. Don’t need to shoot anyone in the face or fly a plane under a bridge. It’s just chill and enjoy
@Mikey856 I was hoping for an engine update this time around, but no such luck. I'd really like to see terrain deformation, weight balance, tyre air pressures and organic weather, things like that. I'm still going to buy it as it's a game I put dozens of hours into. As you say, they're very chill and relaxing games.
@Malaise a friend of mine has gone to PS5 from PC and he misses this feature. Maybe next gen consoles will be truly powerful enough for this stuff, but then I’d imagine pro will be helpful in this regard
@Mikey856 Physics is an area in modern consoles that has an immense amount of room for improvement. Among other things such as destruction and what have you. But instead we get worthless things like a few extra strands of hair or better window reflections.
Anyway, my point is that I have absolutely no doubt the developer could do it, but there comes a point of financially diminishing returns where it's not necessarily worth their time. Snowrunner has some really cool features of that sort. Perhaps Saber Interactive and Giants Software could combine (ha) their efforts. 😁
In the end, as much as I'd love to see those things, A - I don't want to game on a computer, I like the comfort and ease of a box under the TV, and B - I try to tell myself to be happy with what I've got and the game exists at all. And it is one of very few games that supports mods on console. So, thank you Giants Software, and I hope we maybe see some of these features in future!
Maybe I'll see you on the fields!
I have FS19 got for it like £6 2 years ago for my girlfriend don't know why she wanted it but she played like 15 mins and never went back I have it ago I was hooked for about a month. I go back from time to time but honestly each literation it never seems to change graphically I don't think
But it's a chill game it looks okay and doesn't really have to be that graphically mad with ray tracing etc
